Anastacio "Tacio" T. Torres

Anastacio “Tacio” T. Torres 88, passed away, August 26, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born May 4, 1922 to A. C. and Margarita Torres in Socorro, NM. As a young man Anastacio joined the military and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Anastacio attended art school in Chicago, and started work with the Society for Visual Education (SVE). He made his career as a graphic artist prior to retiring as a lead person in the graphic art department in the early 1980’s. Anastacio is preceded in death by his brother, Jesus Torres; and his sisters, Julia Armijo; Miquela Sisneros; Anne Turpin; and Isabel Torres. He is survived by his sister, Louise T. Callihan of Albuquerque, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at San Miguel Catholic Church Parish Hall at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following the rosary at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Amanda Callihan, Rita Ramirez, Eppie Martinez, Isaiah Gallegos, Craig Gallegos, and Gabe Gallegos. Those who wish to send condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com.
