Magdalena Samaritan Center volunteers were honored last Saturday at a party hosted by the center’s board members. Board President Kelly Barnitz said up to 50 people have contributed their time, energy, and money to keep the charitable organization going. “The need is growing, but the volunteer base is growing, too, as more people become more aware,” Barnitz said. “We currently distribute 72 boxes of food twice a month to the neediest families, and give out about 100 boxes of food at the store location.” The Volunteer Appreciation Day is held once a year.
